AI Data Policy
Last updated: May 27, 2025
At Elementics AI, we are committed to the responsible, ethical, and secure use of Artificial Intelligence. This AI Data Policy outlines how we handle data used in our AI models, our commitment to data privacy, and the measures we take to ensure the integrity and security of your research data.
Our core principle: Your proprietary data remains yours. We do not use your private research data to train our foundational models without your explicit consent.
Policy Highlights
Data Usage & Model Training
Foundational Models
Our foundational AI models are trained on public, open-source scientific datasets (such as PubChem, ChEMBL, and open-access literature). We do not use customer data to train these general-purpose models.
Customer-Specific Models
When you use our platform to fine-tune models or generate predictions based on your proprietary data:
- Your data is used solely to provide services to you.
- Models fine-tuned on your data are isolated and accessible only to your organization.
- We do not share your data or your fine-tuned models with other customers.
Data Retention
You retain full ownership of your data. Upon termination of service, we provide mechanisms to export your data and ensure its deletion from our active systems in accordance with our retention policies.
Security & Encryption
Encryption at Rest
All sensitive research data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption when stored in our databases and file systems.
Encryption in Transit
Data transmitted between your devices and our servers is protected using TLS 1.3 protocols to prevent interception.
Access Control
We employ strict Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). Only authorized personnel and systems can access your data, and only for legitimate business purposes.
Audit Logging
All access to data is logged and audited. We maintain detailed audit trails to track who accessed what data and when.
Privacy & Anonymization
We understand the sensitivity of chemical and biological research data. In addition to standard privacy practices:
PII Redaction
We automatically detect and redact Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from unstructured text data before it is processed by our AI models, where applicable.
Structure Anonymization
For certain collaborative features, we offer molecular structure anonymization (scaffolding masking) to allow sharing of insights without revealing exact chemical structures.
Compliance & Ethics
Elementics AI is committed to developing AI that is safe, fair, and beneficial. We adhere to the following frameworks:
- GDPR & CCPA Compliance
- SOC 2 Type II (In Progress)
- NIST AI Risk Management Framework
